Fredna W. Johnson, 59, died September 21, 2017.
Fredna Warnelle Johnson was born in Memphis, Tennessee on September 3, 1958 to Fred D. and Cora Warnette Johnson. She attended Woodstock Elementary and graduated from Millington High. Fredna was known to her family and friends as “Fluffy”. Her creativity and talent were known and utilized in her community, church and school. She retired from Shelby County Schools after thirty years of service. She was preceded in death by her mother, Cora Warnette Johnson; her grandparents Fred and Mabel Johnson and John Spight and Melvina Spight Lake; several aunts, uncles and cousins.
Fredna is survived by her parents, Fred and Dorothy Johnson; her sister, Sheraldine “Kitty” Thompson; her niece, Courtney Elizabeth Thompson; her nephew, Terrence C. Thompson; aunts, Marilyn Johnson, Bessie Freeman Shotwell (Dayton, OH), Johnnie Richardson, Gladys (Joe Leake) and Betty (Rev. Ernest) Gillespie, Shirley Horton (Los Angeles, CA); uncles, Henry Mitchell (Sue Williams) Johnson (Dayton, OH), John (Margaret) Johnson (Nashville, TN), J.T. Spight (Jean), (Middleton, TN); a host of cousins, godchildren and special friends.
The family will receive friends from 5:00- 8:00 p.m. Monday, September 25 at Serenity Funeral Home 1638 Sycamore Rd. The funeral services will be held Tuesday, September 26, 2017 at 12:00 noon at Trinity CME Church 1096 Thomas St. Memphis TN 38107. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Trinity CME Church, St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, The Mid-South Food Bank or a charity of the donor’s choice.
