Annette Grandberry, age 61, died December 31, 2022.
Mrs. Annette “Nette” Mabon-Grandberry was born on Wednesday, August 9, 1961 at John Gaston Hospital in Memphis, TN to the late Rosie M. Mabon & Arthur Strickland.
She accepted Christ at an early age, while attending New Shelby Missionary Baptist Church in Collierville, Tennessee. Then for many years, she worked in the food industry, before retiring most recently as a Baker, for the Perkins Family Restaurant Chain. Although retired, her love for cooking and baking did not stop, as she often hosted many dinners at her home. When she wasn’t hosting, her delicious food and desserts were often requested at the functions she often attended. She was one of the only people loved ones saw smiling when others requested for her to cook. In her children, she inspired strong work principles and often encouraged her family to forgive, not to despise; to persevere, not to quit; and to love not hate.
On Saturday, June 11, 1977 she was united in holy matrimony to the late Moses Grandberry Jr; to this union one child was born. In later years she was blessed with the birth of her second child.
Annette 61, was called home on Saturday, December 31, 2022, in Olive Branch, MS. She leaves to cherish her memories and celebrate her life, two daughters, Nekaychel (Christopher) Shelley of Olive Branch, MS. Sesley (Chris) Payne of Memphis, TN; Along with six grandchildren, Nekayla, Myranda, Gwendolyn (Cameron), Tyler, Maci, and Camden. Four brothers, William Mabon of Memphis,TN; Curtis (Dorothy) Mabon; Henry Mabon both of Collierville TN; Jerry (Pam) Mabon of Olive Branch, MS; one sister, Diane Lyles of Moscow, TN; one uncle John Nolen of Memphis, TN; one aunt Mary Ann Anderson of Chicago, IL; and a long loving list of nephews, nieces, cousins and family friends.
Annette was preceded in death by her husband, her parents, grandparents, aunts and uncles, and her grandson Mason.
