Obituary for Betty Jean Echols
Betty Jean Echols was born September 9, 1939 to Reginald and Inonia Hall. She was raised in Memphis, TN, as a child before moving to Louisville, Kentucky were she was married. She then moved back to Memphis were she was a well known and loved homemaker. After being widowed she began an over 30 years relationship with Alvin Taylor. Betty had one of the kindest hearts of any person you may know known for not turning many away if she had it you it.
She was preceded in death by both her parents; two sisters, Ernistine Harris, Willie B. Gates; one brother, Leroy Hall; two of her sons, Quincy Echols, Regional Hall; and one daughter, Shirley Hall.
She leaves to cherish her memories two sons: Gregory Porter and Enson Echols both of Atlanta; and one daughter, Michelle Echols of Memphis; three sisters: Ester Porter, Lois Maxwell (Cleveland), and Patrica Hall; one brother, Roosevelt Crawford; grandchildren: Travis Hall, Regina Stokes, Marco Echols, Daphne Smith, Amber Smith and Marvis Armstead; great grandchildren: Kionia Coburn (Nikki), Quardros Coburn Jr., Kawana Coburn, Jewles ,and Mekinzi Coburn; one great grandchild, Kristian Coburn; and a host of family and friends who loved her dearly.
