Obituary for Beverly Jean Simpson
Beverly Jean Simpson, 69, passed away on August 19, 2020, in Sacramento, California.

Beverly was born in Memphis Tennessee, she was the daughter of James and Clara Simpson. She attended Hamilton School from grade 1 through grade 12, graduating as an honor student in the Class of 1968. She served as editor of the school newspaper and was awarded an academic scholarship to attend Howard University, where she matriculated for two years.

Beverly re-located to California in 1971 where she eventually rose to supervisor at Signetics Corporation, one of the first companies to make integrated circuits. She returned to Memphis in1987 and served as church secretary/administrator for Parkway Gardens Presbyterian Church. Christmas of 2002 found her in California again, where she eventually became employed in the mental health field until her retirement.

Beverly is survived by five siblings: James Simpson, Sandra Puckett, Patricia Terry Andrea Simpson, and Rochelle Noone. Other survivors include two nephews, four nieces, and a host of grandnieces and grandnephews.

A memorial service will be held on September 5, 2020, 1:30 p.m., at Serenity Funeral Home located at 1638 Sycamore View Road, Memphis, TN. The service will be live streamed; access to the livestream is posted on the funeral home website at
