Obituary for Carolyn Faye Elliott
Carolyn was born in Hickory Valley, Tennessee November 28, 1957 to Ella White.
She received her education in the Hardeman County School System. Carolyn graduated from Middleton High School in Middleton, TN. Following her high school education she later attended The Hair Design School in Memphis, TN where she received her cosmetology license. She was the owner and operator of Elliott’s Hair Care in Grand Junction where she worked for 28 years.
Carolyn married Kenneth Elliott on July 7, 1976. To this union Tonya Elliott Shorts was born.
Carolyn professed her love for Christ at an early age and joined Mt. Salem Baptist Church and in her later years joined World Overcomers Outreach Ministries Church under the leadership of Apostle Alton R. Williams, Senior Pastor in Memphis, TN
Carolyn departed this life on Wednesday June 20, 2018 after a lengthy illness.
Carolyn is survived by her loving husband, Kenneth; daughter, Tonya (Walter); and grandchildren, Talijah Haynes, Waylen and Wade Shorts. She was raised by her grandparents, Sever and Lydia Scott which preceded in death; sisters, Donna (Robert Sr.) Brooker and Brenda Adams; and one brother, Fredrick (Demetris) Prewitt all of Rockford, IL. She also leaves behind a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and a multitude of friends and family members who will miss her dearly.
