Cheryl Antionette Rankins Collins Deans was born June 13, 1956 and entered the Kingdom of Heaven on June 17, 2025 at the age of 69 years old. Cheryl loved the Lord and was active in any congregation she visited. Cheryl joined Fellowship United Missionary Baptist Church under the leadership of
Reverend Lawrence E. Barksdale Sr. Cheryl later joined Balmoral Baptist Church.
Cheryl was extremely articulate and astute during her formative years at Hamilton High School. Cheryl holds an Associate Degree in Business Administration and had a successful balloon business and helped her Mom & Sisters with Catering By Rhapsody. Cheryl retired from Memphis City Schools as an Office Administrator with 35 dedicated years of services. During those 35 years she touched the lives of many co-workers and had a meaningful impact on many students that became part of her family. After her
retirement she began working at Baptist Memorial Hospital as a Patient Care Representative; she
quickly excelled and became an integral member of her team. In addition to working at Baptist she
began working at Kroger where after 7 years of service she retired.
Cheryl married Earl Deans and of this union two children were born Justin Henry & Renea Marie. In a previous relationship to Jessie Rogers one amazing child was born Rhapsody Michelle who at the age of 44 transitioned to be with the Lord. Leaving to carry on Cheryl’s legacy are her Mother, Henry Rene Yate, 6 sibling, Dr. Cynthia Cross (Joe Dupree ) Claudia Griffin (Ray), James Rankins (Jaqueenline),
Jeffery Rankins, Horace Rankins (Tiffany), and Cathy Barksdale (Lawrence Sr), her children Justin Dean (Heather) Renea Deans, Richard Dean (Patricia) Quinton Joyner (Rhapsody) and her
grandchildren, Skyler, Jamison, Braden, Keegan, Dylan, Nolan, and Rylan, her Great Granddaughters, Kyla and Ky’lani as well as a host of cousins, nieces, nephews & other relatives.
Cheryl was the life of the party & the glue of our Family
