On September 8, 2022, Ms. Christine A. Cox transitioned from this earthly life to her Heavenly Home. Christine was the fifth of five children born to the late Matthew and Christine Addison on April 18, 1930. She confessed and accepted Christ as her Lord and Savior at an early age at Mississippi Boulevard Seventh Day Adventist Church. She later worshiped at Longview Heights Seventh Day Adventist Church and Olivet Baptist Church.
Christine was a graduate of the Booker T. Washington High School and began her career at Union Protective Insurance Company. She spent more than twenty years at the International Harvester Company before retiring upon the closing of their Memphis factory. She was one of the first Black Key Punch Operators(computer operators) for International Harvester in the city of Memphis. Although she was retired, she continued to work for several years for Blue Cross/Blue Shield Insurance Company.
Christine was united in Holy Matrimony to Willie B. Cox who passed in 1988. She leaves three children to cherish her memory; two sons, Willie J. Cox and Gregory E. Cox(Beverly) and a daughter, Brenda M. Cox. Grand children; Gregory E. Cox Jr(Kyla), Kevin B. Cox(Amy) and Corey Cox(deceased). And great grand children, Courtney Edwards(Dorrell) of Laveen, Arizona and Mia L. Cox. Christine, also leaves a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends to mourn her passing.
