Clarence “Darryl” Smith was born July 17, 1965 in Mason, TN. Darryl departed this life Saturday, September 22, 2018 at Methodist University Hospital in Memphis, TN. God in His infinite wisdom, called Darryl home, to His kingdom where suffering is no more and life is eternal.
He received his education at Frayser High School in Memphis, TN. A believer in Christ, with his favorite saying “If the Lord says the same”, he accepted Christ as his savior at an early age and was a member of Progressive Missionary Baptist Church. Darryl exemplified what it means to live with respect and character. He believed in living with a thankful attitude, enjoyed helping others, and very seldom would you hear him complain. Darryl was a loving and caring young man who loved his family and enjoyed spending time with them.
Darryl leaves to cherish his memories of a well-lived life: his mother, Gwynn E. Smith of Mason, TN; two children, Paulette Smith and Clarence Smith, both of Memphis, TN; two sisters, Lakeisha Douglas of Memphis, TN and Shena (Torneil) Maclin of Mason, TN; three brothers, Stevy (Sophia) Smith of Memphis, TN, Marvel (Gwen) Sutton of Millington, TN, and Eddie Douglas of Mason, TN. Nine grandchildren and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
