Connie Bolden Nurse was born July 23, 1956 to John Clark and the late Margaret Bolden. Raised in Greenville, MS by the late Fred Bolden Sr. and late Riller Lee Bolden, Connie found Christ at an early age. While attending Sacred Heart Catholic School, Connie became a leader in the Church Youth Choir. She continued her love for singing while attending Greenville High School where she graduated from in 1974. Connie attended Mississippi State University where she found her calling in education. Following her graduation in 1979, she started working for Memphis City Schools. In August of 1980, Connie married Ronald Nurse Sr. In 1981, she gave birth to Ronald Nurse Jr. and later in 1986, Candace Nurse was born. She took joy in being a major part in her children’s lives, but also made time for her students that she mentored while teaching. The diva educator took on an extended role as the Sponsor of the Majorettes and drummers at Sherwood Middle where she pushed her squads toward excellence. In 2010, she transitioned to Melrose High School. In 2014, Connie retired from teaching to spend more time with her grandchildren Cam’Ron and Kaydence. Throughout every chapter in her life, she was a dedicated member of Mississippi Blvd Christian Church where she sang in the choir continuing her love for singing. The definition of a legend is a person popularly regarded as historical but unauthenticated. Connie Bolden Nurse is the true definition of a legend.

Left to honor her memory are ex-husband Ronald Nurse Sr., children Ronald Nurse Jr. and Candace Nurse, daughter in-law Brittany Nurse, grandchildren Cam’Ron and Kaydence, aunt Dorothy McGee, aunt Alma Bolden, uncle Charles Bolden, cousins/ sisters Demalda Bolden-Newsome, Carol Jenkins-Gaye, Sharon Jenkins-Simpson, Deidre Gayden, Angel Desquare, countless cousins, nieces, and nephews, friends from all walks of life, former co-workers and students from her Sherwood and Melrose families, and her church family from Mississippi Blvd Christian Church.
