Obituary for David Vincent Brown, Jr.
David Vincent "Dee Jay" Brown Jr.

Who was known by many as Dee Jay, was born on October 20, 1981, to David Vincent Brown, Sr. and Lauresa Evett Brown.

He professed Christ in July of 1995, at Temple of Deliverance Church of God in Christ under the leadership of the late Bishop G.E. Patterson. He later joined Koinonia Christian Center under the leadership of Apostle Cedric Taylor.

Dee Jay graduated from Fairley High School in 2000, and later attended the University of Memphis. He was employed by Medtronics, where he worked for over 10 years.
He had a passion for composing music, where he spent countless hours expressing his creativity. This allowed him to travel and meet various artists in the industry. As a hobby, he took great pleasure in restoring classic cars and attending car shows with his closest friends. He was devoted, to a fault, which was evident by his loyalty to his one and only NFL team, the Buffalo Bills.

He had an endless love and dedication for his family. Charming, witty, and a great sense of humor, Dee Jay captured many of our hearts with his captivating smile. He was a caring young man who would give his last to help someone in need. He had a very kind heart and quick wit and will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved him. Although Dee Jay never had children of his own, he adored his Godson, Leumphrey “Trey” Sanders.

Dee Jay reached his final destination of heaven on March 24, 2016. He will be greatly missed by family and friends. He leaves to cherish in loving memory, his parents: David and Lauresa Brown; Grandmother, Evelyn Taylor; Godson, Leumphrey “Trey” Sanders; a host of aunts, uncles, great aunts, great uncles, cousins, family, and friends all over Memphis, TN and beyond. He was preceded in death by his grandparents: Mira Brown, Walter Brown, and Daniel Taylor.
