Ms. Dorothy Jean Wallace Mays was born May 29, 1950 in Robinsonville, Mississippi. To late Mr. Willie Frank Wallace Sr. and Mrs. Levella Spears Wallace. Dorothy accepted Christ at an early age.
Dorothy Mays was a socialite, hospitality ambassador, and cook extraordinaire. She met no strangers, and if you lived, worked, or interacted with her at all, you had a friend for life. Her laughter was infectious. She lit up a room with her presence, and the minute she arrived, you knew all would go well. As an event planner and caterer for decades, she wore a golden apron that served hundreds and thousands with a smile, pizazz, and that extra something that made people feel better than when they came.
She was loyal. In good and bad seasons, she supported the Tennessee Titans without waiver. She yelled loud enough for the teams to hear her, and many are certain she yelled them to victory during serious fumbles. As a comedian, she should have likely been on a paid stage. She was quick-witted, relevant, and wore a smile about 99.9% of the time
