Obituaries
Ernestine Briggs Dugger was born on Monday, July 21, 1947, in Eads, TN, to the late Fletcher Reed and Mary Bell Briggs.
Ernestine was baptized and accepted Christ into her life at an early age. Throughout the years, she continued her journey in Christ as a faithful servant. She loved her final church home, Christ the Rock now known as Renewal Church Memphis, where she cheerfully served as a Greeter until she could no longer. Ernestine married Charles Dugger on November 29, 1965. She was a dedicated Quality Control Specialist at Cummins Diesel Recon for 25 + years. Born to this union was Darick Dugger (Rhonda), Tammy Phillips (Greg), Tori Dugger, and Mentrell Hampton. She was very family oriented. Her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren were her pride and joy. She loved her family dearly and was always there for them to offer a helping hand, listening ear, or words of encouragement when needed.
On August 23, 2024, at 9:24p.m Ernestine transitioned into eternal peace. As much as she loved us all she had to leave us. She will be missed and her memory will be cherished forever by her family.
She is survived by her sister Bernice Briggs Harbin (Zelly), two brother-in-laws Melvin Dugger (Laura), Andrew Dugger, and one Sister-in-law Martha Tate. Her 11 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren brought her so much joy. She leaves a host of nephews, nieces, cousins and friends. She also leaves seven loving, cousins (who are like sisters and brothers) Peggy Stiger, Betty Woods, Norma Jean Alderson, Hugh Stiger, Jimmy Stiger, Otis Stiger (Lee) and Charlie Stiger (Maggie). She was preceded in death by her brother Johnny Phillip Briggs.
