Obituaries

Gail Bright Boyd Collins born August 21, 1935, in Memphis, Tennessee. Gail graduated from University of Memphis with a degree in Education. She was a true educator with a teaching career that spanned 31 years. Gail taught at Scenic Hills, Skyview Baptist Academy and Bartlett Elementary until her retirement.
Gail enjoyed gardening and fostering and rescuing dogs from shelters, her favorite where Border Collies. Gail and her husband, Ronald were active members of West Tennessee Border Collie Rescue. But more than anything Gail loved her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren and treasured the time spent with them.
Although Greenleaf Farms had been their home for many years before her passing, both Gail and Ronald have resided at Ave Maria nursing home in Bartlett for the past few years.
Gail is preceded in death by her husband Ronald Collins and her son Ronald Mark Collins.
She is survived by her daughter Cindy Collins Cromwell (John) of Arlington, TN, her daughter-in law, Deana Brunjes, 3 grandchildren, Leigh Allison Coons (Matt) of Atoka TN, David Forsythe (Ashley) of Bartlett, TN and Emily McClain (Bill) of Germantown and six great-children, Parker, Lila, Charlie and Ruthie McClain of Germantown, Lana Gardner of Atoka TN and a new baby due in August of Bartlett. Gail is also survived by her brother and sister-in law Irby and Sue Boyd of Atoka, TN.
There will be a celebration of Gail’s life at Ellendale United Methodist Church 7217 Centralia Road Bartlett TN 38135, where she has been a member for over 50 years on Saturday April 8, 2023. Visitation is from 10-11 with services at 11 and a luncheon to follow. In lieu of flowers please send a donation to Ellendale United Methodist Church or a charity of your choice.
