Obituaries
On September 17th, Georgia Ruth Cain heard the sweet words of God gently whispering into her ear, come home my child, come home.
Georgia Cain was born in Robinsonville, Mississippi on February 1, 1934. She attended several high schools in Memphis. She loved teaching children and retired as a daycare provider. She was active in the community and was a devoted Poll Worker for the Shelby County Election Commission.
Georgia loved God, and if you ever thought about starting a conversation about the Lord, take a seat, because you would be there for a while. She truly enjoyed being around people and never met a stranger.
She loved and adored her church family. She united with Prince of Peace under the leadership of Rev. James Trueheart. She continued to serve faithfully under Rev. Noah Alexander until her health would no longer permit. She loved to sing and teach, and also served as a Sunday School Teacher, Mass Choir Member, a Prayer Warrior and the Mothers Board Ministry.
Georgia leaves to cherish her precious memories; sons Franklin Steward (Linda), Rev. Lawrence Steward Sr. (Charlene), Derrick Steward (Shirley) and Eric Lowe, Step-Daughter Sandra Powers, Sister Thelma Hubbard, Brother Cleophus Donelson (Yvonne), Sister-in-law Margaret Shelley, grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, extend family and friends, her Prince of Peace family, and god-daughter Diana Cox. All who loved her and will cherish her memory.
She LOVED her family and her family LOVED her. Her service to life was a great example and we are proud you were our mother.
