Obituary for Gerald Hudson
Gerald Hudson, The beloved husband, father, son, and brother, Deacon Gerald Hudson transitioned peacefully on Saturday, May 16 at the Methodist Hospice Residence. Gerald, a native Memphian, was a 1974 graduate of Carver High School. He was a 36 year employee with FedEx Express and worked for the AGF&S division in both Nashville and Memphis. Gerald served as a mentor and coach for many organizations. He was the Co-Chairman of the Deacon Board at Oak Grove M.B. Church on Hwy 64 where he demonstrated love and served with grace. He leaves to cherish his memories his wife Blanche and son Christian; mother and father, Sylvester and Thelma Hudson; siblings, Jackie Tompkins, Sonya Smith, Sylvia Hudson, Patricia Tate, Lewis Melvin, Michael Aldridge, Gary Hudson and Victor Hudson; brothers-in-law, Alfred Tompkins, DeWayne Smith, and Clint Bond, god-son, Jordan McKenzie and a host of uncles, aunts, cousins and extended family. The family visitation hours will be Friday, May 22nd at Serenity Funeral Home located at 1638 Sycamore View Road from 4-6 p.m. The homegoing celebration will be Saturday, May 23rd at 12 noon at the Oak Grove Missionary Baptist Church located at 7289 Hwy 64, Memphis, TN.
