Gregory Alan Floyd was born on June 15, 1983 to Latanya and Gregory Floyd in Berrien Springs, MI. He spent some his former years in San Diego, California, but later relocated to Memphis, TN with his mother.
Alan, as he was affectionately known by those close to him, worked in various roles within the industrial industry, including operating heavy machinery and forklift driver. His love for movies was boundless, and he never missed an opportunity to enjoy a good film. Alan also cherished the time he spent playing video games with his daughter, Kaniyah, their bond growing stronger with each shared adventure. Alan was also an insatiable reader; he devoured books of all genres and oftentimes shared his newfound knowledge with those around him. He will be fondly remembered and deeply missed by his family and friends.
Alan leaves to cherish his memory his beloved mother Latanya Floyd of Memphis, TN; father Gregory Floyd of California; 4 daughters: Tatiana Berry, Kaniyah Floyd, Aaliyah and Alayna Ivory all of Memphis, TN; a special step-daughter: Eriana Sims of Memphis, TN; a host of aunts, including his special aunt Rhonda, uncles, cousins and friends.
Alan was preceded in death by his grandmothers, Daisy Dixon and Joann Floyd; grandfather, Paul Swinney; 4 uncles: Glenn and Derrick McDowell, Dwight and Andre Dixon; 1 aunt: Diane McDowell; 1 cousin: Ayria McDowell.
