“I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith. Finally, there is laid up for me the crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous Judge, will give to me on that Day, and not to me only but also to all who have loved His appearing” (II Timothy 4: 7-8).
Hannelore Hotz Filsinger passed into the arms of our Heavenly Father on June 28, 2021 at the age of 92. She was born on November 24, 1928 in Wiesloch, Germany and was the lone child of Katshen Hotz and Karl Friess. Her mother died at childbirth and she was raised by her grandmother, Susana Hotz. At age 24 she married Siegfried Horst Filsinger and they soon had two boys, Jonny and Roland. Their goal was to save enough money to move to America. In March of 1960 they boarded the S.S. America and ten days later arrived in New York at Ellis Island. They continued on to Memphis, Tennessee where they established family roots. Hannelore stayed very active, working daily in her garden and rose bushes. She loved and cherished her family along with her dog, Lusy. Hannelore loved our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ whose sacrifice made it possible for her to enter into the kingdom of God. Survivors include her sons; Jonny (Anne) of Lakeland and Roland (Jackie) of Eads, five grandchildren; Jon (Jana), David (Erica), Erik (Franchesca), Lora, and Jared, and six great grandchildren; Hunter, Caroline, Addison, Isabel, Chase, and Claire, all of Arlington.
