Jackie Webb was born to the late W.L. and Lillian Webb on March 18, 1956 in Olive Branch, Mississippi. She was the third of nine children. She grew up in a loving and Christian environment with her parents and siblings.
A Time To Plant … A Time To Love … A Time To Build
Jackie confessed her life to Christ at an early age when she joined Lane Avenue Baptist Church now World Overcomers Church under Apostle Alton R. Williams. She later moved her membership and became a devoted member of Pursuit of God Church on North Watkins under the leadership of Pastor Ricky Floyd.
Jackie was a graduate of Booker T. Washington High in Memphis, Tennessee. Her professional life began at National Bank of Commerce (NBC Bank) until their merger. She then began a career with Delta Materials and finally moved to The University of Memphis – Career Services Department where she enjoyed working and helping the many students that came through the doors.
Jackie loved her church home and serving in the children’s ministry. She was an excellent cook which she made most items from scratch. All her siblings, nieces, nephews and some cousins had a cake made every year for their birthday.
A Time To Remember …
On Wednesday, July 29, 2020, Jackie made her transition to be with God. She was preceded in death by her parents, W.L. and Lillian Webb and one sister Evelyn R. Webb.
Jackie leaves to cherish her life and memories: a loving son Kevin L. Watkins; three grandchildren: Antonio Malik Watkins of Texarkana, TX, Kamryn and Makayla Watkins of Memphis, TN; five sisters, Bertha Ousley, Jessie Scruggs (Willie), Peggy Gibson, Lillian Fisher (Delmus), and Ludie Jones all of Memphis, TN; two brothers, Curtis Webb of Minneapolis, MN and Johnny Webb, Sr. (Sharon) of Memphis, TN; along with a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. She also leaves 3 special nieces Dr. LeCharle Harris (John) whom she resided with until her death, LeBridget Webb-Haley (Marc), and Kiara Jones; her BFF LaVetta Watson; Goddaughter Robin Watson; three special family friends: Markisha Williams, Leon Hardeman and Percy L. Jones.
