James Charles Woods, age 68, died April 8, 2016.
James Charles Woods began his earthly journey on 12/8/1948 in Jackson, TN. Both of his parents, John Henry and Estella Salton Woods preceded him in death. He entered into rest on 4/8/2016. James (J.C.) was raised in Somerville, Tn. by his grandparents, Arthur and Jenny King with two brothers Andrew J. Woods (Marie-deceased) and John L. Woods (Jean). It was an old-fashioned Christian up-bringing and it benefitted him well.
He has left a loving wife Freddie Mae Woods and four beloved children they happily raised. Estella Billingsley-Yarbrough (Danny-deceased), Bobby Louis Billingsley (Tenesa), Anita Woods, Alisha Woods-Chambers (Karl). They have nine grandchildren, Phiera Jamea Billingsley, Asia Janai Woods, Corey Williams, Karl M. Chambers II, Bobby L. Billingsley II, Danny R. Yarbrough II, Nia Danielle Yarbrough, Skyler Nicole Chambers, Kelsey Lynn Woods. J.C. was a proud great-grandad of all boys. Aven Antonio Fields, Aren Caldwell, Corey Williams II, Cameron Williams.
He also leaves to cherish his memories the following siblings from Indiana. James Doss (Brandy), Pastor Jessie J. Rainey Jr. (Linda), Jean M. Jones, Lavern Banks, Shirley Doss, Sheila Rivers, Janice Edmonds, Gail Reaves (Joseph), Gay West (Michael) and Francine Harrison (Paul).
His parents in love Sam and Lula B. Billingsley preceded him in death. A special bond existed between his mother in love and he. J.C. shared wonderful memories with his siblings in love. Mack Harville-deceased (Alma), Callie M. King-deceased, Ethel B. King-deceased (Edward-deceased), Willean Neal deceased (James-deceased), Sam Billingsley Jr. (Emma), Maurice Billingsley-deceased (Gloria), Carl L. Billingsley, Belinda Franklin (Eddie), Frank G. Billingsley, Lonzo Billingsley (Sharon), Shirley A. Jones (Jerry).
There are also a host of other relatives and many friends who will remember him.
Visitation to be held from 6- 8:00 PM on Friday, April 15, 2016 at Serenity Funeral Home.
Funeral Services will be conducted at 1:00 PM on Saturday, April 16, 2016 at Serenity Funeral Home.
Burial at McCulley Cemetery, Oakland, TN.
