James Crawford, 36, died October 15, 2016.
James L. Crawford A.K.A. “Lil Shakey” was born August 19, 1980, to James L. Powell of Greenwood, Mississippi and Irene Crawford of Memphis, Tennessee, who remain to cherish his memories. James always had faith and believed in God. He was born in Greenwood, Mississippi, and he eventually moved to Memphis, Tennessee. He later met Chastity Chairs and they had a beautiful daughter named Kenya Lynn Crawford, who was born May 18, 2011. Later they separated and he met Shankita Key (Ne Ne), who is currently his girlfriend upon passing. James dedicated himself into doing/finding work to enjoy life and take care of his daughter. He found laughter and fun in the simplest things, like grilling, chilling with family/friends, and spending time with his mother, Irene Crawford. We as family may argue, fuss, fight, and go moments without talking, but still we are FAMILY. Our words can hurt more than we think, but we are all human. When we received the call on October 7, 2016, at 3:00 a.m. Friday morning, we rushed to your side, and was there every step of the way for those 8 long days. “Lil Shakey” on October 15, 2016 was the day you took your last breath and we cried because you went on to a better place. We are extremely glad you received the best of care at Regional One, from the doctors to the staff. Now you can fly high and be free of pain to watch over the family. We love you and cherish you always.
James is preceded in death by Adella Cannon Crawford and Willie L. Crawford.
