Jane Carruthers, died August 31, 2021.
Ms. Jane Camille Carruthers, 71, of 4911 Top Notch Loop transitioned to heaven on Tuesday, August 31, 2021 after a long illness. Serenity Funeral Home has charge. She was a member of St. James A.M.E. Church 400 N. Fourth Street, Memphis, TN and was a retired civilian employee of the United States Navy. She leaves one daughter Mrs. Tonya (Cecil) Hervey, three sons Tony Carruthers, Terrance (Tasha Dorsey) Carruthers, and Tobert (Tameka) Carruthers, all of Memphis, Tennessee. She leaves her step-mother, Mrs. Gracie Carruthers. She leaves her sisters Jessie Carruthers, Ester Newsome, and her brother Mr. Roosevelt Carruthers all of Memphis, Tennessee; David Carruthers and Davie Carruthers, both of California, and all of whom she loved very much. Ms. Jane Camille Carruthers is preceded in death by her mother, Ms. Viola Richardson, her father Mr. Ike Carruthers, sisters Sharon Crain (California), Arberdella Richardson and Claudine Carruthers, and brother Chester Richardson, all from Memphis, Tennessee. She leaves nine grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren to cherish her beautiful, fun, and joyful memory. She also leaves a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins who will never forget her for being a matriarch and family connector.
