It is with great sadness that we announce the death of our beloved, Jerry Burnett Sr., age 64. Jerry was born on August 17, 1961, in Memphis, TN to Dillie Mae Burnett and Booker T. Fossett. He confessed his hope in Christ at an early age at Mount Pisgah Baptist Church in Cordova.
Jerry graduated from Germantown High and also completed two years of trade school at William R. Moore School. He married his wife Amanda Burnett in 1982, and they went on to have three children Jeremy, Telisha, and Jerry Jr. Jerry worked for Security Fire Protection for over 25 years as a welder and was talented and gifted in many areas, including mechanics, electrical work, plumbing, and fencing to name a few. He also maintained a yard business of his own for over two years.
Jerry was a devoted husband and father. He enjoyed spending time with his family, having family gatherings, and had a huge love for music and conversation.
Jerry was preceded in death by both of his parents.
He leaves to cherish his memories, his loving wife of 44 years Amanda F. Burnett and their three children Jeremy Burnett (Lynn), Telisha (Jeremy) Dixon, and Jerry Burnett Jr.; thirteen grandchildren; eleven siblings, Lawerence Burnett (Paula), Rickey Burnett (Gwen), Lillie Mae Williams, Tony Williams, Glenda Lewis, Shelia Fossett, Dexter Fossett, Cedric Fossett, Michael Fossett, Shawn Fossett, and Booker T. Fosset III; and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and other family and friends
