Obituary for Jim Bailey
Jim Bailey, 75, died June 20, 2019.
Jim Bailey, also known as Jimmie was the eighth child born to the late Milton Bailey and Marbline Harris Bailey on March 6, 1944 in Memphis, TN. He was called to eternal rest on Thursday June 20, 2019 at his residence.
Jim’s elementary and secondary education was acquired in Memphis City Schools. He was united in Holy Matrimony to Mervell L. Bailey (Maxine) on May 26, 1966, from which three children were born, Vicky, Timothy, and Jerald. He was divorced in June of 1992. He never remarried.
Jimmie was a laborer worker. He worked for Ivers and Pond Piano Factory, Don Russell Bubble Gum Factory, Smith Wood Parts Co., Foster Pontiac Car Lot, where he was a mechanic. His last job was with Crawford Refinishing where he refinished furniture.
Jim was preceded in death by three brothers, Milton, Charlie and Andrew Bailey; also four sisters, Marbline White, Louise Bailey, Annie Boone, and Martha Moss. He leaves to cherish his memories, one daughter, Vicky Jackson (Amos) of Cordova, TN; two sons, Timothy Bailey of Collierville, TN and Jerald Bailey (Katisha) of Memphis, TN; a daughter-in-law Sebrina Walker Bailey of Southaven, MS. He has ten grandchildren, Jalesia, Tavote, Deonia, Nashon, Tia, Audia, Timia, Trelin, Ajalon, and Madison; also two great-grandchildren, Briannah and Charles. Two step-grandsons, Jamon and Kevin. Jim also has two brothers, Willie Bailey of Memphis, TN and John Bailey. He has six sisters, Juanita Johnson, Beatrice Butler, Betty Macklins (John) and Mary Hasting all of Memphis, TN, Dorothy Houston of Henderson, NV and Janice Bailey. One sister-in-law Jeraldine Bailey of Memphis, TN; and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
