Josephine Taylor Ores, was born June 6, 1925, in Memphis (Barewater) TN, to the late Emma B. Taylor Harrell and Foster Taylor, Sr.
Josephine accepted Christ at a young age and baptized and a member of Ebenezer Baptist Church. She was educated at Caldwell Elementary and Manassas High Schools. She retired from the Memphis City Schools System after 29 years.
Josephine was united in holy matrimony to Arthur Henry Ores, Sr. for sixty-three years, and to this union, ten children, five preceded her in death; Hattie Ores Hayward, Ray Anthony Ores, Patrick O’Neil Ores; John Ores and Baby Girl Ores.
Josephine leaves to cherish her memory: two daughters; Loretta Ores Ricks and Vicki Ores Lyles, three sons; Arthur H. Ores, Jr., Thomas F. Ores, Sr. (Tasha), Vincent D. Ores, Sr. (Joyce), one son-in-law, Bernard Hayward Sr.; one daughter-in-law, Shannon C. Ores; one brother, Foster Taylor, Jr. Twenty-two grandchildren, (two that she raised as her own Patrice M. Ores and Erica S. Edmond), great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren, nephews and nieces, and other relatives and friends.
