Obituary for Larry Nelson
Larry Bland Nelson was born to Martha Gradick and Larry Skipper on November 26, 1977, in Memphis, Tennessee. On Saturday, May 14, 2016, God called Larry home to sit beside Him and granted him everlasting life. He was raised in Central Baptist Church, where he accepted Christ at an early age. A loving and dedicated husband, father, son, brother, uncle, and grandfather, he was. Larry was preceded in death by Alena Cunningham (sister), Henry Nelson (grandfather), and Brian Gradick (step-father).
He leaves to cherish his memory, his wife, Nastasia Nelson; sons, Nazir Nelson, Larry Todd, Zackery Nelson, and Zae’lan Davis; mother, Martha Gradick; father, Larry Skipper (Rochelle); grandmother, Helen Nelson; four brothers, James Nelson, Sir Richard, John Nelson, and Tim Skipper; sister, Mattie Skipper; two sisters-in-law, Shuntel Washington Freeman (Mark), Geneille Liger (Quincy); two brothers-in-law, Alvin Reese and Erik Reese; one niece, Maliyah Cunningham; one granddaughter, Adrianna; and a host of nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins and friends, not to mention his best friend, “Lookin” (his dog). He also leaves his adopted mom, LaFrances Reynolds. He will be remembered in the lives of everyone who knew him!
Larry “Lookin Good” Nelson enjoyed golfing. He loved his football team, Buffalo Bills. He was a hard worker. He was determined to be his own boss. He started a detailing & car lot business in 2013, that he named Lookin Good Auto Repair; that business was his love. He enjoyed seeing his customers and making them smile and happy. He also enjoyed selling cars. His motto was, “I wont sell you something that I wouldn’t drive myself.”
Visitation at 2:30 p.m. on Saturday, May 21st, with funeral service following at 4:00 p.m.. at Serenity Funeral Home.
Inurnment at Serenity Columbarium and Memorial Garden – Rotunda, 1622 Sycamore View Road.
