At an early age she professed her faith in Jesus Christ at Gateway Church of God in Christ. Latifa then became a devoted member of the Temple of Deliverence Church, in Memphis.
Latifa was preceded in death by her grandmother, Ruby Mae Whitfield, who she cherished dearly. She leaves to mourn; her mother, Vivian Triggs; one sister, Tairi Hampton; one nephew, Jaylen Hampton, who owned her heart. She leaves a host of aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. She cherished them all deeply.
Latifa became a lover of history while attending the University of Memphis. She considered herself a strategic thinker as she hosted many game nights at her home. Latifa was a philanthropist and loved donating to the less fortunate. In fact, she won numerous awards for her fundraising efforts. She knew her inner strengths came from God. Also, she was a community advocate, participating in the Sista Struts and the St. Jude Bowl-a-thon, and was a devoted member of the NAACP since 1998.
She believed in living life to the full.
