Lee Hodges Wilson Sr., 88, died May 8, 2020.

Lee Hodges Wilson Sr. was born on July 3rd, 1931 in Marshall County, Mississippi to the late Mr. & Mrs. Buddie Lee and Edna Wilson. Lee was baptized at an early age at St. Mark Missionary Baptist Church in Collierville Tennessee. Later in life he attended St. Therese - Little Flower Catholic Church in Memphis, TN.

Lee graduated from Woodstock High School in Millington TN. Upon graduation Lee joined the United States Army in March 1953. Lee loved Jazz music and listened to a lot of the great musicians like Miles Davis. Lee also loved gardening, reading and the arts. He loved sports especially baseball which included his favorite team, St. Louis Cardinals.

Lee was a Korean War veteran, he served in the U.S. Army, later he joined the Army Reserves and Tennessee Air National Guard. Collectively he served 14 years in the armed services before retiring.
After leaving the Armed services Lee began working at the U.S. Postal Service in Memphis, TN. In October 1986 he retired after 30 years of service.

On Friday morning May 8th, 2020 Lee departed this life peacefully at his home, he was preceded in death by his loving parents Buddie and Edna Wilson, his brother Phillip Wilson, his sisters Dorothy Wilson, Imogene Cleggins, Sophie Jones and Edna Wilson Taylor.

Lee leaves behind his brother, Cordell Wilson (Josephine) Memphis, TN and his sister Elizabeth Wiseman of Detroit Michigan.

Lee was married to his loving wife, Franceen Wilson on November 8, 1959 in Memphis, TN. From this union they had one daughter, Cynthia (Alvin) Payne Memphis, TN and three sons, Lee H (Gloria) Wilson, Jr, Memphis, TN, Christopher (Cathy) Wilson, Memphis, TN and Eugene (Cathy) Wilson, Grove Town, GA.

He also leaves eleven grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren and one great-great grandchild and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and treasured friends.
