Lee Jessie Briggs was born on June 10, 1942 to Clarence Briggs and Hattie Franks in Hope Arkansas.
After relocating to Los Angeles California, he pursued a career in Electrical Studies by attending Los Angeles Trade Tech. In June of 1969 he was hired by Flying Tigers as an Electrician. After the acquisition of Flying Tigers by Federal Express, Lee was relocated to Memphis Tennessee in January of 1994. He remained a Senior Sort System Mechanic with FedEx until he retired on June 30, 2002.
Lee was a master of many trades; he had a unique ability of repairing appliances and installing equipment. He was adventurous and he displayed that by his travels to various Central American Countries including Belize. He was intrigued by the tradition and customs of the people and never hesitated to participate in their cultural activities. Lee also was an ardent domino player and would never pass up an opportunity to play a game. He often bragged that he was hard to beat and would challenge his friends to a game. Apart from watching wrestling, fishing was another sport that Lee was passionate about so he was able to experience deep sea fishing in Belize.
Lee leaves behind his wife Avis Flores Briggs, sisters Ruby Wright, and Margie Logan. Daughters, Denise Briggs, Avis Anigi Funches and Lynn Martinez. Sons Demetrik Briggs and Ricardo Scott. He also leaves behind his grandchildren his great grandson and several nieces, nephews, friends and relatives.
