Obituary for Leroy Jones
Leroy Jones, age 67, died January 15, 2022.

The Journey Begins, Leroy Jones “PooPoo” as he was known to his family and friends, was born December 7, 1954, to the late Charlie and Dorothy Jones. To this union four siblings were born. Two proceeded Leroy in death. His mother, Dorothy, knew what to pack for him for she knew the Journey would not be easy.
Along the Route, Leroy enrolled at Lester Elementary and Lester High School. Leroy was introduced and taught about the Goodness of God and would often attend Church with his mother at New Tyler AME Church. His mother often talked about the “Four Footprints in the Sand.”
Experiencing Manhood, Leroy was his own “Boss.” He knew what it meant to get money to support his family. Leroy was a kind giver to other families on Carpenter Street where he resided all his life. He especially loved the children on his street. Leroy was blessed to have a son of his own.
The Route Gets a Little Bumpy, Leroy Faith in God was tested when he lost his brother Charles Jones and the Love of his life, his sister Paula Denise Jones who was his care giver. Leroy began to have weary days and sleepless nights. He struggled with sickness and was in and out of the hospital.
The Journey ends, On January 15th at approximately 6:42 PM, Leroy journey came to an end. The Footprints were only two, now, and at that moment, the “master” lifted Leroy up and whispered “Weary Pilgram Welcome Home.”
Celebrating his Homegoing, Leroy leaves a son, Toby Winston; grandchildren, Julia, Kylan, Marley and Savannah; brother, Gregory Jones; nieces and nephew, Tabetha (Andre) Williams, Art Egbe, Jarra Jones, Jimmie Jones, Sabrina Jones, Kristina Jones, Gregory Jones Jr., and a host of Great Nieces and Nephews
