Lillie “Cookie” Douglas
June 9, 1954 – March 26, 2025
Lillie Douglas, known to many as “Cookie,” was born in Chicago, Illinois, and later made Memphis, Tennessee, her home. She passed away surrounded by the love of her family, leaving behind a legacy of warmth, honesty, and a beautiful spirit.
Cookie was a God-fearing woman who lived her life with faith, love, and kindness. She loved being around family, cherishing every moment spent with those she held dear. She had an eye for fashion, a passion for shopping, and a love for accessories that reflected her vibrant personality. As a proud Gemini, she was honest, funny, and had the ability to light up any room with her presence.
She was the beloved daughter of Irene and the late Edward Douglas and a caring sister to Helen, the late Edward Jr., Rhonda, the late Gregory, the late Sonya, Johnny and Denise. Cookie attended Kennedy-King College in Chicago, Illinois, where she pursued her education.
Above all, she was a devoted mother who raised six beautiful children: Napoleon Douglas (Lakishia), Sabrina Douglas, Verna Phillips (Calvin), Sherise Walton (Reginald), Talmesha Douglas, and Talmage Douglas. She was also a proud grandmother to 13 grandchildren: Shatoria, Terrance, Terrell, Nicholas, Jamesha, Jalin, Darnell, Daquora, Demetrius, Tiffany, the late Darius, William, and Waishawn, as well as a loving great-grandmother to 24 great-grandchildren.
Though Lillie is no longer with us, her memory will forever be etched in our hearts. Her love, faith, and joyful spirit will never be forgotten. She will be truly missed, but her light will continue to shine through the lives she touched.
May she rest in peace.
