Mary Elizabeth Richardson, affectionately known as “Plookie,” was born on July 30, 1942, to the late Curley Lee Sr. and Rosie Richardson in Hughes, Arkansas. She was the fifth of eight children.
Mary attended Carver High School. She was a faithful worker at Baptist Memorial Hospital for over thirty years, where she eventually retired.
A devoted servant of the Lord, Mary accepted Christ early in life.
Mary had three children whom she helped to raise: Elaine (Ricky) Malone, who lovingly cared for her throughout her illness; Bruce Richardson, who preceded her in death; and Corey Fair. She also helped raise one great-nephew, Bruce Richardson Jr.
She leaves to cherish her memories two sisters, Clara Williams and Missouri Ghoston, and one sister-in-law, Helen Woods, all of Memphis, TN. She was preceded in death by one sister, Margie Richardson, and three brothers: Richard Woods, Curley Lee Richardson Jr., and Jessie Richardson. She also leaves a host of nieces, nephews, friends, and other relatives. of nieces, nephews, and other loving family members, as well as many dear friends.
