Obituaries
Upon graduating from Barret’s Chapel High School, Milton voluntarily enlisted in the US Army. He served 12 years during the Vietnam War. After receiving an honorable discharge, he worked as a Carrier Technician with the United States Postal Service and retired after 28 years of service.
Milton was united in Holy Matrimony to the love of his life, Maxine Crivens Ivy. They were the parents to one daughter, Sharon Renee. He was devoted to his wife for 56 years until her passing in November 2020. He loved and cherished his family, friends, and co-workers and was very generous, wise and humble. He loved music and often DJ’d under the name “Lil Milton.”
He leaves to cherish his memories: daughter, Sharon Ivy Johnson (Kenneth); sister-in-law, Jean Crivens Jennings; brother-in-law, Algie Crivens II; granddaughter, Nicole Gillespie Denton (Lee); grandson, Brandon Gillespie; great-grandchildren, Travis, Jaylen, Lauren, Ashton, Nolan, Ivory, Marissa, and Lincoln; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
