Monifa Schill, 53, died June 5, 2022.

On Sunday June 5, 2022, our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ called to rest Monifa-Polite Schill at Albany Medical Center, Albany, New York.
Monifa was born to Dwight Polite and Lillian Polite Johnson on May 10,1969 in Queens, New York. Later her mother married Richard Johnson and Monifa became the oldest of three children.
Monifa received her education in New Jersey schools and graduated from Science High School, Newark, New Jersey. She spent two years at the University of Connecticut before starting her career at Fed-EX in New Jersey. Monifa advanced several levels of management while moving to TN. She managed staff of diverse number of employees up to 85 in her 20-year career.

Monifa married her loving husband Stephen A Schill “Sluggo” January 10, 2010. They remained married until his death in 2017, and resided in Millington, TN.
Monifa was a member of Sycamore View Church of Christ, Memphis, TN. where she worked tirelessly with the youth, guiding, and impacting them with her love and wisdom.
Monifa spent much of her time volunteering and caring for others. The charity organizations that benefited from her love and compassion are Mid-South Transplant Foundation, Musculoskeletal Transplant Foundation, Make a Wish Foundation, The American Association of Tissue Banks, Volunteer Mid-South Hands on Network, Susan G Komen Foundation, Arise To Read, Shelby Oaks Elementary School and The TN Achieves, just to name a few.
Left to cherish her memory are: mother Lillian Johnson (Husband Richard) of Broadalbin, NY; father Dwight Polite (Wife Barbara Jean) of Queens, NY; brother Kamal Polite, of Orlando FL; sister R. Yvette Riley of Broadalbin, NY; niece Jasmine Riley, of Tampa FL; nephew Giovanni Riley (Caitlin) great nephew Lincoln A. Riley Conroe TX; step-son Matthew Davis, TN; aunt Dolores Patterson (Roger) of Franklinton, NC; uncle Calvin Hastie, of Sumter, SC. and host of family and friends.
