Moses Wilson, 51, died May 5, 2020.
Our beloved Moses Wilson was created in the image of God. He was born on a beautiful Spring morning, June 11, 1969 at John Gaston Hospital in Memphis,TN, to the late Missionary Ora Jean Wilson and the late Elder Samuel Wilson, Sr. His parents were Holy Ghost filled and created an atmosphere that was conductive to their children experiencing and learning about the love of God, the power of prayer and praise.
Moses was a graduate of Mitchell High School in 1989 and continued his education attending
Southwest Tennessee Community College where he majored in Technology and Business. He
later applied that knowledge to a variety of Business opportunities and also utilized his skill for
repairing computers.
Moses was full of life and enthusiastic about his future. He had an amazing smile, ready to greet you with a hug and a conversation about the goodness of Jesus! He gave God praise in every space he occupied; including his jobs.
He was faithfully employed for over 23 years with Phillips Security and over 15 years with
UPS, where he was given recognition for "Outstanding Performances and Dedication".
Moses was also a skilled cyclist (which was his daily transportation) and took his health and
wellness very seriously.
Brother Moses was sanctified and filled with the Holy Ghost. He lived a life of service
and humanity. He often spoke on him being inspired by his parents, especially his mother
who was a person of service in his Community. He put that philosophy to work as he
served passionately in Ministry at Lindenwood Christian Church under the leadership
of Pastor Virzola Law. Later, the Lord led him to Memphis Christian Center under
the leadership of Pastor Maurice Johnson, where he continued his spiritual growth
and serving in ministry. He demonstrated a heart for the youth as he was actively
involved with “Grooming Greatness and Grooming Grace” mentor program serving
children 13 years old to young adults. In addition, he helped to instruct in the self defense
classes between 2018-2019 with emphasis on "Being Prepared.
Two brothers preceded him in death: Elder Larry Peoples (Gina) and
Mark Mathews.
Moses leaves to cherish his memories, his siblings: Priscilla Allen,
Miriam Osborn (Brian), Samuel Wilson, Carolyn Cox, Timothy
