Obituary for Ollie M Jones

Ollie Mae Jones was born on March 11, 1940, in Senatobia, Mississippi, to the late Fred and Florence Clemons. She was also the twin sister of the late Dorothy Mae and a loving sister to the late Uless Clemons. Ollie Mae departed this life on July 9, 2025, surrounded by her loving family.

From an early age, Ollie Mae embraced her faith, accepting Christ at Old Antioch Missionary Baptist Church in Senatobia, Mississippi. She dedicated her life to worshipping and serving God with unwavering devotion. Later in life, she became and remained a steadfast member of Greater Harvest Church of God In Christ. A truly faithful presence in every church community she graced, Ollie Mae was a fervent prayer warrior for many, leaving behind a legacy of grace, joy, and love.

Ollie was a nurturer in every sense, serving as a dietitian at Methodist Memorial Hospital until her retirement in 1995. Most importantly, she nourished her family's spirits with endless love, wisdom, and her joyful presence. Her passion for fishing was legendary; she'd spend hours by the water, finding immense peace, and her family always delighted in the delicious meals prepared afterward. After retiring, Ollie became a fixture at local flea markets, where she not only helped clothe and furnish homes but also fed souls with her kind words and uplifting spirit.

Ollie's journey led her to Nathaniel Jones, the love of her life, whom she met in 1964. He affectionately referred to her as his "gift," a testament to their deep connection. They united in marriage on December 23, 1967, and together shared over 57 years of beautiful marital bliss. Together they raised six children, including their late son, Gregory.

Ollie’s enduring legacy and love will forever live through her loving husband, Nathaniel, beloved children — Terry, Jeanette, Kelvin, Erick (Jarayda), and Derick (Karen) — as well as her cherished grandchildren, great-grandchildren, siblings - Lessie, Geraldine, and Fred, nieces, nephews, and a multitude of friends whose lives she touched.
