Oriana R. Brown, age 49, passed away on March 20, 2026, in Nashville, TN. She was born in Memphis, TN on February 22, 1977, to the late Sandra Brown and Robert Brown. She was their third child and first daughter.
Oriana was a 1995 graduate of Wooddale High School and later graduated from the University of Memphis twice. She would earn her Master’s in Education. She worked as an ESL teacher and was passionate about human rights, education for all, and being a mother. She poured all her energy into making sure her daughter, Allison Leach, had a good life.
Oriana was funny, intelligent, and incredibly caring. She brought a brightness and softness into every room she entered.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Sandra Brown and her beloved grandmothers, Ophelia Harris and Roberta Robinson. She is survived by her daughter, Allison Leach-Shelby; her grandson, Henry Shelby; her son-in-law, Jarrett Shelby; her father, Robert Brown Sr.; her brothers, Robert Brown Jr. (Ekena) and Perry Brown (Angela); and her sister, Kimberly Brown. She also leaves behind her nephews, many other family members, and her closest friends, especially Shaquorya Chandler and Patricia Brown.
