Payton relocated to Memphis, TN from Heth AR in 1955. He worked as a chef in Memphis restaurants for over 50 years. Payton was a member of Peter’s Rock Missionary Baptist Church where he served as a deacon.
Payton leaves to cherish his precious memories, his wife, Willie Ann Bradshaw, one son, Payton W. Bradshaw, two daughters, Katrina Bradshaw, and Kisha Bradshaw, and one grandson, Magnus Bradshaw, and his pets Jake and Leela; three sisters and six brothers, Nancy Davis, Florasteen McWright, Virginia Johnson (Emmanuel), Tommy Bradshaw Sr., Charles Bradshaw Sr., Johnny Bradshaw, Larry Bradshaw (Sarnetta), Floyd Bradshaw, Jackie Bradshaw: two brothers-in-law, Eugene Jones and James Jones, four sisters-in-law, Mary Frances Smith, Corine Washington, Bertha Williams, and Luella Williams, many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Payton was preceded in death by his parents Payton Sr. and Flora Bradshaw, brothers Lloyd Bradshaw, Olander Bradshaw, sister Mary Payton Bradshaw; brothers-in-law Archie Davis, John McWright, Clifton Jones, McKinley Jones Jr., and Otis Jones; sisters-in-law, Ella Mae Bradshaw, JoAnn Bradshaw, Mary Bradshaw, Charise Bradshaw, and Mildred Bradshaw; nephews, William Bradshaw, and Keyonta Bradshaw; nieces, Betty Bradshaw, Djuana Bradshaw, Diana Morris, and Margaret Robinson.
