Prentice O. Mays was born April 18, 1964, in Tate County, MS, to the late Robert Mays, Sr. and Gloria Dean Mays. Prentice’s spiritual life began at an early age when he accepted Christ at Mt. Olive Missionary Baptist Church. Prentice later attended True Holiness Church in Collierville, TN until his death. He graduated from Independence High School and received his high school diploma.
Prentice loved his family and dedicated himself to being a provider. Prentice had a kind heart, meek spirit, and would lend a helping hand to anyone in need. He loved traveling and making fun of Mary and the kids… as in calling Jordan ‘A Shave Bird.’ He also loved playing soft ball in his earlier years and racing with the kids!
