Obituary for Scott Locke
MSgt Scott E. Locke, age 70, passed away peacefully at home in his sleep on Sunday, June 27, 2021.
Scott was born June 1, 1951, in Kennebunk, Maine, son of Fred Locke Sr. and Marlene C. DeWitt. He retired after 20 years of service to the USMC but continued to hold several jobs. He graduated from the Memphis Police Academy serving as security for 10 years with MLGW. Scott was a lifelong Marine. He loved his country, was an avid reader, enjoyed riding his motorcycle, collecting guns, and cared deeply for animals. (We lost count of how many he rescued.)
Scott is survived by his wife of 48 years, Veila Locke; siblings; Fred Locke Jr., Patricia Pratt, Dennis Locke, Tony Locke, Judy Stasaiewicz, and Kelly Lewicki. He will be missed dearly by many friends and his bonus family (Cheri Sarmiento, The Woods, The Jones, The Webbs, & the The Gardners.)
Scott was preceded in death by his parents, and sister, Penny Locke, and his son, Adam C. Locke.
A Military service with honors will be held on July 9, 2021, at 1:00pm at
West Tennessee State Veterans Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations be made to The Wounded Warrior Project or The Muscular Dystrophy Association.
