Obituary for Senior Master Sergeant Rand Schoolar Wright
Senior Master Sergeant Rand Schoolar Wright (B.May 26, 1947-D. May 25,2016) retired from the U.S. Air Force in 1987, after serving his country for twenty years. He was a true soldier, strong, loyal and a man of his word. Originally from Louisville, Mississippi, he traveled the world during his tour, and fell in love with the Alaskan wilderness. His wandering spirit, love of the mountains and wide open spaces, musical talent and way with dogs are his legacy to his daughter, Tamara (Tammi) Wright (daughter of Lana Hampton Morris). There were few things he loved more than spending time with his family, listening to Elvis, Merle Haggard, George Jones, and kicking it with his buddy Winston, the Chihuahua. He is also survived by his beloved wife, Jean Wright, step daughter Kim Gibson (Walker), step sons Mike James (Trish) and Stephen James, grandchildren Delanie Freeman (Ryan), Dalton Glidewell, Dallas Thigpen, Baley and Aiden James and mother-in-law, Ruth I. Wade. Siblings Dolores Nowell, Kerry Wright (Katherine), Terry Wright (Karla), Debby Luke (Frankie), Julie Carter (Ken), Tim Wright (Suzanne), Jeffery Wright and many nieces, nephews that loved him dearly. He is at peace after a long struggle with heart disease, joining his father Earl Schoolar, mother Bernice and brothers Eugene and Kenneth Wright.
