Shelby Larry Marshall, II, was born on March 5, 1982, to Peggy A. Marshall and the late Shelby Larry Marshall, Sr. On August 9, 2021, after many battles fought and many victories won, he transitioned from this earth and went on to eternal rest.

Shelby grew up in Memphis, Tennessee. He attended Coleman Elementary , Raleigh-Egypt Middle, and ultimately graduated from Raleigh-Egypt High School with the Class of 2000. While at Raleigh-Egypt, Shelby was a member of the Pharaoh Football Team, an AFJROTC Cadet, played trumpet in the Marching Band, and was named an Outstanding Senior. Outside of school, Shelby was very active in the TORCH youth ministry at Golden Gate Full Gospel Baptist Church, where he met many lifelong friends who are now considered family. Shelby went on to study at the University of Tennessee in Knoxville and ITT Technical Institute where he studied computer programming.

Despite certain health limitations, Shelby continuously pressed forward with a vision in mind. Recently, he became an agricultural enthusiast. He furthered his interests by attending aquaculture and farmland sustainability lectures at Tennessee State University College of Agriculture, where he received his Certificate of Completion as New Farmer in 2019 . His goal was to help his big sister farm her land and create a mentoring program to lead youth from the dangers of inner city living by teaching them real life experiences in a rural setting.

Shelby will be greatly missed by his family and friends.

Shelby was preceded in death by his father - Shelby Larry Marshall, Sr. He leaves to cherish his memory: his mother - Peggy A. Marshall, his sisters - Shelitha A. Mack and Shelfina A. Wilkins, his brother- Shelton L. Marshall, Esq., his nephews - Derrick E. Hopson, Jr., Malik S. Wilkins, and Mataeo R. Wilkins, his niece - Damerah A. Hopson, his great nieces - Cahja A. Renix and Kazi A. Evans, his goddaughter - Braxtynne G. Woodard, and a host of family and friends.
