Obituaries
Shirley Ann Bailey was born to the late Carry Bell and Manchester Gary on January 20,1949, Holly Springs, Mississippi.
She accepted Christ at an early life. She was affiliated with several churches in Memphis, TN throughout her life. However, she became a member of Greater Open Doors Missionary Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by her son, Toby Terrell Pegues, Sr. and by her two brothers, Charles Collins and Harry Pegues.
On September 19,2025 at 3:36 pm, a physical side lost the battle and spiritual side shouted victory.
She “fought a good fight”, and she finished her course,” she “kept the faith.” “Now there is in store for me the crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous Judge, will award to me on that day” (2Timothy 4:7-8).
We knew she wouldn’t have left us if we were not ready. She worked for 48 years in catering and 42 years driving a school bus. Whether it was Shirley, Shirley Ann or Shelane. She answered to each call…A daughter, sister, Mother, grandmother, great grandmother and friend.
Your love was shared by us all. She leaves to continue the race and celebrate the memories of her life, one daughter, Terri L. Pegues and one son, Tyrone (Ramona) Pegues, six grandchildren, Toby Pegues, Jr., Charles Pegues, Danielle Pegues, Anthony Mignot, Tyler Pegues, Amari Pate, and Kaliah Bobo, and five great grandchildren. She leaves a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. She will be especially missed her long times friends, Mr. Cardester (Tyrone) Williamson, Mrs. Betty Taylor, and neighbors
