Obituary for Sonnie Milton, Jr.
Sonnie Milton, Jr., 58, died February 24, 2017.
Sonnie Milton Jr. was born February 20, 1959 to the late Sonnie and Hattie Mae Presley-Milton.
He attended Rosa Fort High School in Tunica, Mississippi. Sonnie’s outgoing personality and love for people made him a joy to be around. Sonnie loved life and was a very hard worker. He truly enjoyed working as a truck driver for Intermoda.l Cartage Company (IMCG).
Early in life he was baptized at Union Street Church of Christ in Tunica, Mississippi, where he remained a member.
Left to celebrate his life is his loving wife, Patricia (Bond) Milton, who will always cherish his memories.
He also leaves four sons, Jimmie (Temecco) Buford of Horn Lake, Mississippi, Maurice Milton of West Helena, Arkansas, Marquette Barnes of Tunica, Mississippi, and Travis Joiner of Memphis, Tennessee; and a step son, whom he loved as his own, Courtney (Catherine)
Strickland of Memphis, Tennessee.
Throughout Sonnie’s lifetime, he also raised many children who loved him dearly and he loved them as well. Sonnie will also be missed by his four brothers, Frank (Mae) Milton of Tunica, Mississippi, Murry (Shirley) Milton, Willie Milton, and Johnny (Beatrice) Presley, all of Memphis, Tennessee; one sister, Blanchard Presley of Sacramento, California. He was preceded in death by one brother, Robert Milton. Sonnie leaves to cherish a host of grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends.
Sonnie went to live with his Heavenly Father on February 24, 2017 at 4:15 p.m. He touched the lives of many and will be missed dearly.
