Tommie C. Taylor, 70, died September 7, 2019.
We celebrate the life of Tommie C. Taylor, born September 9, 1948 in Macon, Mississippi to Annie Mae and Nick Taylor, Sr. Tommie was the oldest son of twelve children. Tommie was a member of Mt. Moriah Baptist Church in Macon, MS; later he joined Olivet Baptist Church in Memphis, TN.
Tommie married his beautiful wife Elaine Taylor on July 13, 1975. They had three children, Teinne Jose Taylor (deceased), Zyrel Kchino Taylor (only surviving child) and Ashley Elaine Taylor (deceased).
Tommie worked in the trucking industry as a dock worker, retiring after 35 years of service. Tommie enjoyed sports and was a die hard Cowboys fan. He enjoyed shooting pool with family and friends. Tommie was present for all family events, he loved being around friends and family.
Tommie leaves to mourn his passing, his former wife and close friend, Elaine Lofton Taylor; his son and daughter, Zyrel and Canisha Taylor; two granddaughters, Asia Braddock and Catasya Horton; one great-granddaughter, K-Maria “Baby Cakes” Johnson.
Tommie also leaves his siblings to mourn his passing. John & Barbara Taylor, Walter & Patricia Taylor, James & Mary Taylor, Nick & Tammy Taylor, Jr. & Betty Foote, Sallie Taylor, Annie & Louis Tate, Debra & James Craig, Marie Taylor, Gloria Patterson, Levon & Leon Grace. Two siblings preceded him in death; Jeanette Williams and Mary Nell Taylor.
Tommie leaves his extended family to mourn his passing. Reanet & Kelly Lofton, Berta & William Moss, Virginia Davis, Emma Lofton, Dale Lofton, Ivy Shipp, and Kelly Lofton, Jr. Bobby & James Puckett, Jr. preceded him in death.
Tommie was loved by many. He leaves a host of other family members to mourn his passing.
