Vernon “MooMoo” Jerome Phillips also known as “Big Jack” was born February 15, 1976 to Barbara Phillips Davis (of Memphis) and Matt Larry (Martha K.) Sumler (of Harvey, IL). He was the oldest of five siblings. Vernon departed this life on Friday September 13, 2024.
He accepted Christ at an early age. After graduating East High School, in 1995 Big Jack pursued his passion in being a truck driver. He did what he love for over 15 years until his health declined. MooMoo was a laid back guy who loved spending time with his loved ones. He also loved traveling, dressing well and eating a good ole burger!!
Mourning his transition is his mother, Barbara Davis of Memphis. He also leaves his fiancé, Tiffany Brooks. Two daughters, Kamia and India Phillips, of Memphis, step-children, David Flocker, Raygon George, Arneciah and Ashliegh Winston, Romilio, and Lisenda Gonzalez and three grandchildren, KaMaria, Kailee, & JaMia. Four sisters, Tiffany (Henry) Otoo, Patricia (Lester) Brooks, Lynnsay Brooks, Tonya McCarroll; six brothers, JeVoruis Davis, Treavis Hunter, Jeon Davis, Jallian Willis, Scotty Willis, and Timothy Willis. Two aunts, Paulette Shorter and Lucy Phillips; and three uncles, Donald Phillips, Jerry Phillips and Waddell Sumler. His favorite cousin, Tamara (Lil Leaky) and a host of other relatives.
