Obituary for Victor Butler
Victor was born in Milwaukee, WI on September 16, 1956 to Mary Boyd and Trefold Lewis. He passed away at age 61 on June 12, 2018 at his residence.
Victor was fortunate to have love in his life having united in faithful and holy matrimony to Vickie Lynn Butler.
Victor started playing many instruments at an early age in elementary school in Milwaukee, WI. After his mother passed Victor was raised by sister, Virginia Dotson and husband Allen in Somerville, TN.
Victor received Christ, played for different churches: Semmes Baptist Church, G.E. Patterson, and other churches throughout Memphis; most famous Albert King's bass player.
Victor belonged to Dean Hill Missionary Baptist Church in Lake Cormorant, MS until his death.
He was preceded in death by parents; sisters, Virginia (Allen) Dotson & Eveary Lee Davis; uncle, Lee (Ethel Bell) Boyd of Somerville, TN; and special nephew, Neil Dotson.
Victor is survived by his loving wife, Vickie Butler; daughters, Sheronda (Donald) McShan of Dallas, TX, Jocelynn (Kevin) Douglas Jr. of Memphis, TN, Shenika Reed of Memphis, TN, Starr Hill of Southaven, MS, and Dionysia Broadway of Southaven, MS; brothers-in-law, Ricky and Michael Tinsley of Greenville, MS; sister-in-law, Tonya Tinsley of Southaven, MS; step sons, Colandus Hill of Southaven, MS, Charles Yvette Hill of Horn Lake, MS, Earnest Wright of Southaven, MS, Andre Loyd, Phoenix, AZ, and Ca’Ron Loyd of Flint, MI; grandchildren, Dailen Caldwell, Phoenix & Kevin Douglas, Drevion Williams, Jamarion Hughes, Javion Reed, Keith Norman, Jermaya Mack, Charmie, Darien, Destiny, Damain, and Derrick Hill; sister, Katie Mae Theus; brothers; Eddie (Yasmin) Butler of Nashville, TN, William Butler of Somerville, TN; aunts, Mamie Earlene Dotson of Somerville, TN, special aunt, Charlie (Leotis) Seaberry, Ruby Ray Boyd Polk, Lizzie Mae Farland of Milwaukee, WI; host of nieces, nephews, cousins; play brothers, Lamar Tisdale, Butch Mudbone, Jeffery Smith, Berando; special nephew, Alonio Dotson, who called Vic every day to check on him {Thanks}; and play sister, Zelinda Zeno.
