Virginia Louise Mitchell, 68, died August 1, 2018.
Virginia Louise Mitchell, born November 27, 1949, in Memphis Tennessee the 2nd of 4 siblings of Joe Willie and Lorean Mitchell. She confessed hope in Christ at an early age and was baptized at Hunter Avenue Baptist Church. After attending Hyde Park Elementary and graduating from Douglass High school in 1967, she moved to Topeka, Kansas. There she joined the Church of God in Christ church where became a Sunday school teacher. She worked for Hallmark Greeting Cards Company for 30 years and retired. She spent her last days enjoying a quiet and peaceful retirement.
Her father Joe W Mitchell Sr., mother Lorean Mitchell, and brother Benny Ray Mitchell, all preceded her in death. Her family tried to convince her to move back to Memphis, and she started packing, but she changed her mind and decided to stay in Topeka, Kansas. She slipped away August 1, 2018.
She leaves to cherish her memory two siblings, Alice Mitchell McKinnie (William) deceased, and Joe W. Mitchell Jr. (Pearl) and sister-law Carol Mitchell (Benny) deceased. And a host of relatives, cousins, nephews, nieces, family, and friends.
