Obituaries
Walter Lee Killion was born December 22, 1948 to the late Alice Davenport Killion and James Killion, Sr. in Washington County, MS.
Walter joined the United States Marine Corps on September 20, 1967 at the early age of 19, where he later served in the Marine Corps Reserve Forces Class III in Kansas City, MO as a private Class E-1 Veteran. Later, Walter became a Major in the armed forces.
Mr. Killion was released from active duty and discharged Honorable character of service.
Officer Killion was also awarded several medals that included:

Vietnamese Campaign Medal
Good Conduct Medal Comm 11
Walter also holds an honorary blackbelt in karate.
Later in life, he was introduced to the teachings of Jehovah’s Witnesses by his Mom and developed a keen respect for the organization.
Walter departed this life on August 17, 2025. He was a proud High School graduate. He dedicated many years of service as an employee of Baptist Hospital Central, where he worked faithfully never missing a single day until early retirement.
Walter now joins in eternal rest his beloved parents and siblings: his brothers, Odell Killion and David Killion; and sister, Virgie Lee Killion.
He leaves to cherish his memory, eight sisters, Lula May Hill, Evrone Hayes, Mary Alice Killion, Georgia May Harris, Ora May Adams, Annette Gillard, Shelia Faye Wilson and Linda Faye Brooks; three brothers, James Killion, Jr., Leon Killion and Floyd Killion; one son, Walter Killion, Jr; one daughter, Ladonna Cantu; seven grandchildren, along with a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and dear friends who will miss him dearly, in particular whom Walter loved as if they were his own, Cindy Jones and Shantel Killion-Mheirat.
