Obituary for William Marvin Wells
William Marvin Wells died on March 8, 2016.
William Marvin Wells, fondly known as Marvin or ‘Pops’, was born May 27, 1940 in Memphis, Tennessee to William and Coralene Wells. He was the first born to the family of thirteen.
Marvin attended Hamilton High School, graduating in 1957. He furthered his education at Tennessee State University. After college, he ventured to Los Angeles where he lived for several years. Eager to pursue a career in engineering, Marvin moved to Detroit, Michigan in 1968. He eventually accepted a job at Ford Motor Company where he retired after 30 years of service. Marvin was an avid reader, history buff and looked forward to watching and critiquing local and national news. He loved visiting family in Tennessee, Illinois, Ohio, Texas and California. We will never forget how Marvin did things ‘HIS way’. He was a stickler for being prompt, had a little bit to say about everything and had many funny quirks such as not making left-hand turns when driving and running errands only on Tuesday.
With heavy hearts, we reflect on Marvin’s life and hold memories of him that will forever be with us. Marvin entered eternal rest on March 8, 2016 at his home in Canton, Michigan.
He was preceded in death by his father Willie Wells and siblings Carolyn Greene and Michael Wells.
He leaves to cherish his memories:

Siblings: Phyllis ‘Joyce’ Milsap (Ike), Robert ‘Pete’ Wells (Christine), Sandra Evans (Melvin), Patricia Crawford, Charles Wells (Deborah), Evelyn ‘Nita’ Pilate, Tony Wells (Pamela), Vicki Edwards (Gerald), Kenneth ‘Kenny’ Wells, Tara Wells.
Uncle, aunts and a host of nieces, nephews and cousins.
Visitation to be held from 11:00 AM - 1:00 PM on Saturday, March 19, 2016 at Serenity Funeral Home.
Graveside Service will be conducted at 2:00 PM on Saturday, March 19, 2016 at Memorial Park Southwoods.
