Willie Roy Edwards, age 75, passed away on Wednesday, June 10, 2020, in Franklin County, IL. Willie was born in Como, Mississippi on June 30, 1944, to Mac and Elsie Edwards. Willie was the 4th of 12 siblings. Willie exchanged vows with his loving wife and soulmate on July 15, 1978. He spent most of his years in Chicago, IL., where he met his loving wife but finally settled in Memphis, TN with his wife, Patricia Edwards in 1987.
Willie was such a kind, honorable, and loyal man. He loved helping others, cherished his family, and was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and friend. He was the type of person everyone could depend on. Willie worked hard, long hours as a truck driver for over 30 years, and found comfort at home, lying in his favorite reclining chair, watching sports games, and old cowboy shows. He played baseball in his younger days before discovering fishing as his favorite hobby. He was a cheerful dancer on the dance floor and could always supply plenty of smiles and tons of laughter wherever he went.
Willie is proceeded in death by his parents, 3 sisters, Jackie Edwards, Deloris Williams, Shirley Lewis, and 3 brothers, Robert Edwards, Leverne Edwards, MacArthur Edwards.
Willie leaves to cherish his memories, his loving wife and soulmate Patricia Edwards, 3 sons, Daryl Edwards, Eric Edwards, Lavorrie Richmond, 1 daughter, Sharee Edwards, 3 grandchildren, Xion Adams, Valerie Edwards, Blake Edwards, 3 sisters, Elsie Powers, Dorothy Alexander (James), June Hughes (Fred), 2 brothers, Raymond Edwards (Caroline), and Eugene Edwards along with a host of great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and cousins.
